Thanks for Reading

I love to journal, and I have been doing it for more than 20 years. Journaling has always been a life line for me. I have discovered that a core trait of my personality is an almost impulsive desire to harmonize and find commonalities in ideas, thoughts, and daily life experiences. Journaling is a primary way for me to do that. It’s a way for me to organize my disjointed thoughts into a cohesive expression of what’s going on in my heart and mind. As life grows increasingly complex, I find that I need that organization/harmonization more and more.

As most of you reading this can attest to, I am not fond of social media. Despite much cajoling from various friends, I have yet to join the ranks of Facebook. So this foray into an online journal of sorts is a major move for me! It pushes me a bit out of my comfort zone to put my thoughts online, even though a limited universe of friends may be reading them.

My hope is that through this forum, together we can “keep the truth up front in daily consciousness,” as I once read. Meaning that we are shaken out of our “default settings” in life, our almost ritualistic observance of daily routines, to pay attention to “capital T” truth. For example, God’s truth of who we are, who He has called us to be, and His abundant, unfathomable love for each of us.

Thank you for choosing to join me on this journey. And thanks for reading.
